SPS/IPC/Drives
bigger than ever
The prospects for the
forthcoming SPS/IPC/Drives (27 – 29 November 2012 in
Nuremberg/Germany) are excellent. This year’s exhibition will
be larger and more comprehensive than ever. More than 1,450 exhibitors
will showcase their electric automation innovations, products and
solutions in twelve halls. Over 400 exhibitors from abroad are
participating at this year’s show. This is more than ever. The
countries currently most strongly represented after Germany are once
again Italy with 76 participating companies, followed by China (48) and
Switzerland (35).
The trade fair offers a
platform for producers and users at senior level to discuss technical
issues and exchange ideas and information. Following on from last
year’s record visitor figure of 56,321, more than 50,000 trade visitors
are also expected in 2012.
With 48 presentations, two
keynote speeches, three tutorials and a trend session on “Sustainable
Automation”, the conference which will take place in parallel with the
exhibition will provide its usual comprehensive overview of the
industry. The joint stands “AMA Center for sensors, measuring
and testing Technologies”, “Open Source meets Industry” and “wireless
in automation” will enable visitors to find out more about these topics
in detail and to start identifying targeted solutions for their
automation problems.

TI
showcases new industrial technologies
Texas Instruments is unveiling several new technology innovations for
the industrial market on its booth at SPS. These will be featured in
working demonstrations including: efficient “sensorless” three-phase
field oriented motor controllers (FOC) that eliminate the
need for rotor sensors; reducing costs and improving reliability in
industrial computing applications; designing a safety-critical electric
motor drive with a SafeTI design package
Xilinx
demonstrates Zynq-7000 SoCs
Xilinx will demonstrate advanced industrial automation applications and
technology based on its Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoCs at
SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2012. Demonstrations will highlight how Zynq-7000 All
Programmable SoCs provide developers with solutions to the extreme
bandwidth, smart vision, ubiquitous computing and security/safety needs
of next-generation industrial automation applications.
MicroSys:
focus on system solutions for control and HMI
As partner from logi.cals, MicroSys exhibit on
SPS/IPC/Drives 2012 with focus on system solutions for control and HMI
applications. For example, the miriac HMI1022 HMI device. It carries
Freescale QorIQ CPUs in combination with miriac MPX SoMs. In the
current version, it is a P1022 CPU.
