Toshiba: 32-bit ARM Micro and dedicated starter kit for motion control
Toshiba Electronics Europe has further expanded its range of devices and tools for motion control applications with a compact and integrated ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller. The 32-bit TMPM374FW IC is launched with a dedicated Starter Kit that provides all of the hardware, software and documentation needed for immediate device evaluation and rapid development and prototyping.

Microchip: 8-bit PIC MCUs implement cost-effective CAN communication
Microchip's PIC18F “K80” 8-bit CAN microcontrollers feature 1.8 to 5.5V operation and eXtreme Low Power technology, for a low sleep current consumption of less than 20nA.  The new MCUs come with an on-chip 12-bit ADC and a peripheral which enables mTouch capacitive touch-sensing user interfaces.

Fujitsu: sprite-based graphics controller with APIX1 interface
The MB88F333 ‘Indigo-L’ is a new sprite-based graphics controller, which incorporates the APIX1 interface and is optimised for CID and HUD of next-generation automotive applications. A key feature of the ‘Indigo-L’ MB88F333 is the APIX serial gigabit interface from Inova Semiconductors.

Freescale: Kinetis K50 MCU family offers multiple monitoring interfaces on chip
The K50 MCU family offers multiple connectivity options for continuous monitoring and an integrated measurement engine for reliable processing of analogue signals for applications such as portable medical devices, signal instrumentation and industrial test and measurement equipment.

Microsemi: expanded industrial ecosystem for SmartFusion FPGAs
In the expanded industrial ecosystem for SmartFusion intelligent mixed signal FPGAs customers now have a broader choice of operating systems and communication protocols for implementation on SmartFusion FPGAs, enabling the acceleration of their designs in industrial and networking applications.

Infineon: safety package for 32-bit TriCore MCUs
Infineon's design package allows functional safety according to IEC 61508 requirements for embedded designs based on its 32-bit TriCore microcontrollers. The design package presented at Embedded World includes the SafeTcore test library, a complete TriCore-based safety kit from Hitex, named SafeTkit, and comprehensive software and documentation.

Eurotech showcases Everyware Software Framework
Eurotech demonstrates a complete wireless gateway solution based on Intel’s hardware and software development kit that allows for M2M devices, applications and services to get to market quicker.  The demo shows a live development environment based on the Intel Atom processor M2M reference platform with a software development kit from Wind River and Eurotech.

TQ: QorIQ processor based minimodule for fanless systems
The embedded module TQMP2020 manufactured by TQ is the next generation of the PowerQUICC III module family TQM85xx. The Freescale QorIQ processor family P1 and P2 opens up the possibility of new applications in industry and communications. With one or two e500 cores and a clock speed ranging from 533 MHz to 1.2 GHz, the TQ module with its QorIQ processors offers an optimal balance between data processing speed and power dissipation.


Emerson: OpenVPX SBCs feature 2nd generation Intel Core processors
At Embedded World, Emerson released its first OpenVPX (VITA 65) single board computers the 6U iVPX7220 and 3U iVPX7223 featuring the dual-core 2.20 GHz Intel Core i7 2655LE processor with integrated graphics and memory controller, and the Intel QM67 PCH chipset for advanced I/O functionality.

Diamond Systems: I/O module provides WiFi, Ethernet, USB and SSD expansion
The Corona multi-function SUMIT-ISM I/O module combines WiFi, dual Ethernet, USB, and solid-state disk expansion capabilities. The compact, rugged module is engineered to meet the wide operating temperature, high shock and vibration, and mission-critical reliability requirements of fixed and mobile application environments, whether indoors or exposed to the elements.

Kontron: new boards based on 2nd generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors
At Embedded World Kontron  introduced VPX and cPCI boards based on 2nd generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors. As Norbert Hauser (left), Vice President Marketing with Kontron, explained,  the new 3U VPX CPU board VX3035 is based on the highly integrated and energy-efficient Intel Core i7 2655LE processor and Kontron’s 6U CompactPCI processor board CP6003-SA is also based on 2nd generation Intel Core i5/i7 mobile technology.
