With foot traffic in the tens of thousands and
dozens of exhibitors, electronica 2018, held in November, promises to
showcase some of the most innovative electronic components. This year,
the show will host four conferences: automotive, embedded platform,
medical electronics, and a Wireless Congress. This year’s slogan is
“Connecting Everything — smart, safe, and secure,” which can be applied
across all industry segments.
The next generation of Smart Grid and intelligent
facilities requires advanced power management solutions. In this
webinar the latest Nexperia logic developments and package trends
will be presented.

The SPS30 is a technological
breakthrough in
optical PM sensors. Its measurement principle is based on laser
scattering and uses Sensirion's innovative contamination-resistance
technology. This technology, together with high-quality and
long-lasting components, enables accurate measurements throughout a
lifetime of more than eight years.

On the first night I arrived in Shenzhen, I saw a
local friend of mine. The first question I asked her was: "What has
changed China since last I saw you?" Without hesitation, she said: "AI
and Trump."
Half the diameter of Earth, with a nearly
identical day/night cycle, Mars beacons to us across the distance as a
place we might one day be able to call our second home. Aspencore's
Special Project on the Road to Mars explores that attraction and looks
into the electronics technology involved in fulfilling it.

Create lower cost, smaller size,
higher performance, lower power, and more reliable isolated circuits
than competing optocoupler solutions. The Silicon Labs Si86xx digital
isolators are the industry’s highest performing, widest channel count
series of unidirectional and bidirectional isolators.

Infineon Technologies will acquire Siltectra, a
start-up based in Dresden. The start-up has developed an innovative
technology (Cold Split) to process crystal material efficiently and
with minimal loss of material. Infineon will use the Cold Split
technology to split silicon carbide (SiC) wafers, thus doubling the
number of chips out of one wafer.
What’s different about 5G system design, we have
been told over and over again, is that it is becoming increasingly
difficult to tweak just the digital hardware, or just the RF
componentry, or just the software, and achieve an optimization of
overall system performance.
High resolution is being extensively marketed
across a broad range of high bandwidth oscilloscopes. This white paper
provides an overview of the various high resolution design approaches,
with example...
Predictive maintenance offers a number of advantages versus traditional approaches to equipment maintenance, allowing corrective actions to be scheduled at a convenient time while maximizing the usefu ...

Samsung grabbed world headlines on Wednesday when
it announced plans to ship a foldable smartphone sometime next year.
But a little-known rival was actually first to announce such a product
a few weeks ago and aims to beat the South Korean giant again by
shipping it in December.
Circuit models are the heart of worst-case circuit
analysis (WCCA). For simulations to be valid, you must gather and vet
models or create them yourself; you can't usually rely on the
manufacturer's model. Your models must correlate to datasheets or test
data, and then you need to add tolerances to those models...
This webinar will show how thermal and inductance simulations on busbars and capacitor- busbar assemblies can help in optimization of overall system design to achieve the best performing and cost-effe ...

This flexible NFC Tracker evaluation
board
with sensors includes a comprehensive software library and a sample
application to monitor and log sensor data over NFC from an Android or
iOS device. The evaluation board features NFC harvesting to supply
power and a battery cradle for a CR2032 battery.

With more than 152 million
vehicles connnected to the Internet by 2020, it’s no surprise
that electronic control units (ECUs) are easy targets for attackers and
other adversaries. This is supported by published reports on recent
attacks on Volkswagen/Audi, BMW, and Tesla vehicles. And as
cars become more connected, this trend will continue to grow.
The PSMA Board of Directors is seeking one or more
volunteers interested in providing leadership for the Energy Management
Technical Committee. The membership in all the PSMA Technical
Committees is comprised of individual volunteers from both Member and
non-Member Companies who have a technical, business or personal
interest and are involved in the focus of the specific Technical
Committee.

I recently attended MWC Shanghai. Robots were big
– very big. I saw dozens of companies, looking for customers to brand
and offer them in any one of many applications. Take just one example
application – Tug, the robot nurse. This doesn’t look much
like our sci-fi image of robots, unless you’re thinking of some of the
more utilitarian examples in Star Wars.
Read in this White Paper how 5G technologies could
integrate and enable the full potential of mobile technology, big data,
IoT, and cloud computing while supporting digital transformation across
various sectors, including healthcare, smart vehicles, smart home,
industrial automation, and more.
