Engineers often have to measure power, and this power can take many forms: DC or low-frequency, wired or wireless RF, or optical. In addition, the dynamic range of power to be measured spans many decades spanning femtowatts to kilowatts are common, and it’s at the very low or very high extremes that challenges become most daunting for both making the measurement and assessing its accuracy.

Electromagnetic compatibility is indispensable in today‘s products, and EMC components are the key to ensuring it. This webinar presents individual EMC solutions and shows how support with measurements works – including on-site.
A fan like this could be placed in a tunnel-shaped heat sink which might carry some number of power semiconductors whose heat has to be carried away to somewhere else. A single fan of this kind will be capable of moving such and so many cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air, taking air in from one end of the tunnel and expelling it from the other end.

The final part of this series will start with bias servo circuits for automatic set up. The FETs pinch off or threshold voltage can vary widely for the same part number. Depending on the fabrication wafer lot chosen, these voltages can vary 2 or 3 to one. To bias them correctly for a predetermined drain-to-source resistance, the user must hand-adjust and calibrate the bias voltage across the gate and source.

EMI emissions testing is critical to bringing a product to market. Most electrical and electronic products require regulatory compliance testing, which must be performed in an approved test lab. Such testing can be expensive, especially if the product fails. A failed test can result in lost time to market and cost overruns.

The trend of EDA suppliers offering tools through the cloud was readily apparent at this year's Design Automation Conference. But don't expect the cloud to become as prevelanent in EDA. That's because EDA is dramatically different than other types of enterprise software.
In this webinar the advantages of IGBT modules with integrated shunts as an alternative to Hall Effect sensors will be introduced. The attendee will learn why shunt modules enable a reduction of mechanical components, inverter size, production effort and risks, which finally leads to significant reductions in system costs of the inverter design.
Vincotech, a market leader in power semiconductor modules, excels at developing and manufacturing high-quality electronic power components for Motion Control, Renewable Energy, and Power Supply markets. Understanding customers’ needs, the company furnishes both off-the-rack and applications-specific solutions to ensure these requirements are met.
NXP introduces a programmable logic unit (PLU) to the LPC family of Microcontrollers. Join us for this webinar to see how easy it is set up the PLU as we will explore several real-world examples of the challenges many face, but can be overcome with this unique feature.
