The LMG5200 device, an 80-V, 10-A
driver plus GaN half-bridge power stage, provides an integrated power
stage solution using enhancement-mode Gallium Nitride (GaN) FETs. The
device consists of two 80-V GaN FETs driven by one high-frequency GaN
FET driver in a half-bridge configuration.

In traditional isolated high voltage flyback converters, tight regulation is achieved using opto-couplers to transfer regulation information from the secondary-side reference circuitry to the primary side. The problem is that opto-couplers add significant complexity to isolated designs.

This is a succinct account of my experience with the cheap electronic power supply module from China, “DC-DC Module 5-A/7-W (ERPC0575DC) XL4015.” I have used quite a few over the years and have to say that these types of modules are great for hobbyists and makers. There are countless suppliers and very high variance with most modules, not to mention some room for user misplay!

Direct Bonded Copper (DBC) and Active Metal Brazed (AMB) ceramic substrates are the most popular substrates for the assembly and packaging of IGBT and MOSFET bare dies in power modules. As a designer of power modules, you will have to select the right substrate for your application. In this webinar, you will learn how the ceramic grade, the ceramic thickness and copper thickness are influencing the isolation voltage, output power and reliability of your module.

In this white paper we will review two major thermal management systems that are in use for thin film semiconductor manufacturing and the emerging trends for metrology systems and the implications for their associated thermal management systems.
In this article, we present a typical IoT power management solution for small, portable gadgets, while also reviewing its shortcomings. We then introduce a nanoPower boost converter that overcomes these shortcomings, while able to ‘operate on fumes’ down to minimal amounts of residual battery energy.
There is a general feeling that the power supply industry reached such level of maturity, nothing will really happen, which in fact, is not the case. The C-SMPS industry is extremely dynamic, adjusting to market changes, new regulations, emerging new technologies, and in permanent transformation.

The design of motor drive systems is undergoing a transformation. Even under Industry 4.0 guidelines, we’re looking for high-horsepower motors that are smaller, more energy efficient, and quieter. This represents a challenge for component suppliers who must balance microcontroller-based “Intelligence” with “brute force” power switches and amplifiers.

Many applications require positive and negative supply voltages, with only one voltage requiring tight regulation. This Design Idea describes a dual-output, hybrid SEPIC-Ćuk converter whose positive output voltage can be lesser or greater than the input voltage.
This article is about digital potentiometers. A digital potentiometer (digital pot) is a variable resistor that is controlled by digital signals instead of by mechanical movement. In principle, at the heart of a digital potentiometer is a resistor ladder with electronic switches at its every step.
Power Integrations, and Weltrend announce a joint reference design describing an 18 W, USB PD compliant, AC/DC power converter targeted at chargers for smart mobile devices.
CUI’s Power Group announced the expansion of its VOF AC/DC power supply family with the introduction of a compact 300 W series.
ROHM has announced the availability of a buck DC/DC converter optimized for DC fan motor power supplies used in applications such as cold air circulation in refrigerators.
Powerbox, has introduced a 100 W encapsulated AC/DC power supply, ready for industrial systems integration. Aimed at compact industrial systems applications with limited space...
The R-78Bxx-2.0 series switching regulators are ideally suited to replace 78xx linear regulators and are also pin compatible with linear regulators in TO-220 packages.
Intersilintroduced five synchronous buck regulators that step-down 12 V rails to point-of load inputs as low as 0.6V for MCUs, FPGAs, memory and peripheral I/Os.
