Rambus revealed that the company, in collaboration with Microsoft researchers, has succeeded in prototyping cryogenic memory. The new technologies will be essential to data centers, “currently the fastest growing consumer of memory” in the industry, Craig Hampel, chief scientist at Rambus, told EE Times. The new memory subsystems will be able to operate below minus−180 °C or minus−292.00 °F or 93.15 kelvin. This will substantially reduce energy consumption and improve the overall performance of a bank of computers deployed in the cloud for massive data processing, he explained.

The United Kingdom's electronics industry expresses angst in the time of Brexit. The UK electronics industry’s main concerns for doing business post-Brexit are continued free trade with Europe, access to skilled workers and collaboration on R&D with European Union companies, according to a survey by UK trade body the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI).

The DAC8775 has the
industry’s most integrated signal chain and power supply
scheme, most extensive on-chip alarm features, and leading performance
over an extended temperature range. The DAC8775 can generate all
required power supplies for the device, saving designers time, cost and
board space.

A multiplexer (or mux) is a device that selects one of several input signals and forwards the selected input into a single line. It is widely used in automated testing platforms, because it saves both test time by eliminating manual connections, and cost by using one measuring unit. One common way to implement a mux is to use reed relays.

My current audio projects have me thinking about interface levels and decibels, and I know a lot of you out there are uncertain about them. Here’s what you need to know. First off, you need to know that I expended significant effort to avoid naming this article “dB or not dB, that is the question”. But seriously: The vast majority of line-level analog audio interfaces fall into two categories: Unbalanced, using “RCA” connectors, at a so-called “-10dBV” level. And, Balanced, using XLR connectors, at a so-called “+4dBu” level.

Depending on the light level small solar cells may deliver sub mW to 10’s of mW. The peak application power may range from ~50mW for Bluetooth to ~7W for cellular transmission. So the problem becomes how to power wireless transmission, which requires higher power, from a low-power source. Supercapacitors solve this problem playing the roles of temporary energy storage and power delivery.
