The
major op amp suppliers continue to improve and update their online
design tools. Here, three of the major tools will be applied to the
same relatively simple 2nd order multiple feedback (MFB) example design.

Read
now the December 2017 issue of our Power Electronics News eBook. Major
topics include: MOSFETs for Power Supplies, Selecting Sense Resistors
for Motor Control, new avenues in IGBT control, future Battery
concepts, Medical and Industrial Power Supplies, ...
The IoT-Ready Alliance invites engineers to help define and implement an interface between LED lights and sensor modules.

Contract
prices for NAND flash memory chips are expected to decline in during
the first quarter of 2018 as a traditional lull in demand following the
year-end quarter, coupled with bit growth of 5 percent, catches up with
a market that has been red hot throughout 2017, according to
DRAMeXchange, a research firm that tracks memory chip pricing.

The SuperTest MISRA suites are created to verify the conformance of
MISRA checking software. The aim of a, so-called, MISRA checker is to
check application software for its compliance with the MISRA
guidelines.
This
is the sixth article in a series about my career experiences in the PCB
design industry. The previous articles discuss my lessons learned as a
designer, running a service-bureau, and my initial involvement with a
PCB design software company.

Osram’s
EVIYOS “smart, controllable, high resolution” LED automotive headlamp
prototype, which is able to control its 1,024 LED “pixels”
individually, has been creating some industry and press buzz, and is a
technological first for the LED lighting industry.

Depth-sensor-based
approaches have gradually moved toward mobile power requirements for
handsets and head-mounted displays. That means managing the power for
the sensor and the image signal processor, along with the complex
software required to translate point clouds into useful, interactive
input.

From
the moment that game developers began using artificial intelligence
(AI) to improve the play of their games, it was just a matter of time
before AIs would be able to actually create games. We might be on the
verge of seeing that happening.

Today,
the circuitry on the board in mainstream industrial and consumer
products operates from a wide range of supply voltages. To ensure
compatibility ,standard products normally run from one or more of
standard power rails. But there is a strong force resisting this
general preference for stability and compatibility. It can be summed up
in one word: mobility.
It's
time to recognize the year's top products, with EDN's annual Hot 100
products! These 100 products were selected by our editors, guided by
their own judgment as well as reader interest.
IBM
shook the foundations of next-generation semiconductor-node planning
when it asserted last month that copper would remain the interconnect
of choice at 5 nanometers and below.
In
device development, UL standards increasingly have to be taken into
consideration. This whitepaper provides important information on
simplified device design according to UL 600V.
Standards
like COM Express exist for making customer-specific small form factor
solutions. These are used to reduce the user‘s development time and
costs. Is it possible to reduce the user‘s development costs even
further? This white paper describes how this can be done with a modular
approach to the carrier, enclosure and cooling using pre-qualified
components.
